DevPocket

Online developer tools

DevPocket brings together ten utilities developers use every day. Each one has its own page, validates input, explains errors with line and column when possible and lets you copy the result with one click.

Whatever you paste into DevPocket is processed in your browser and is neither stored nor sent.

Everything runs locally: you can paste tokens, API responses or configs without them leaving your machine. Regular expressions run in an isolated worker with a time limit so a problematic pattern cannot freeze the page.

What it is for

Debugging API responses

Format and validate JSON or XML to find the exact error, or compare two responses to see what changed.

Sensitive data without risk

Decode Base64 tokens or URL parameters without pasting them into websites that send them to their servers.

Validation with regular expressions

Test patterns against real text with ready-made examples for emails, dates, phone numbers or postal codes.

How to use it

  1. Pick the utility from the side menu or the list below.
  2. Paste or type your input. Most tools process it instantly.
  3. If there is an error, the message explains what happened and where.
  4. Copy the result with the “Copy” button.

Frequently asked questions

Is the code I paste executed?
No. The tools analyze text; they never evaluate JavaScript or other code. XML is parsed with the browser parser and shown as text, never inserted into the page.
What happens if a regular expression takes too long?
It runs in a separate Web Worker. If it exceeds the time limit, the worker is stopped and you are warned that the pattern may suffer from catastrophic backtracking.

Limitations

  • Regular expressions use the JavaScript engine; syntax may differ from PCRE, Python or Java.
  • The text diff is designed for documents up to about 2 MB.
