DevPocket
Text diff
The diff checker shows what changed between two versions of a text: a contract, an article, a config file or an API response. Added parts are shown in green and removed parts in red, struck through.
Whatever you paste into DevPocket is processed in your browser and is neither stored nor sent.

You can compare by line (ideal for code and configs), by word (for documents) or by character (to spot tiny changes, such as a comma). You can also ignore whitespace or case differences.
How to use it
- Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right.
- Choose to compare by line, word or character.
- Review the highlighted changes and the added/removed count.
Frequently asked questions
Can I compare confidential documents?
Yes. The comparison happens in your browser; the texts are neither sent to a server nor stored.
Which algorithm does it use?
It uses the jsdiff library, based on Myers’ algorithm, the same approach tools like git diff use to find the smallest set of changes.
Limitations
- Regular expressions use the JavaScript engine; syntax may differ from PCRE, Python or Java.
- The text diff is designed for documents up to about 2 MB.
